CCTV footage of a woman being assaulted in Carlisle on October 28th, has been released by detectives.
The 24-year-old was punched in the head and fell to the ground as she attempted to break up a fight between two men at Court Square in the town.
She suffered a fractured skull and bleeds to the brain, and is still recovering at home.

"“This woman was acting as a peacekeeper and attempted to stop two men from fighting, which I believed showed extreme courage. The CCTV shows how quickly she fell to the ground after being punched and subsequently suffered serious injuries.
“We are particular keen to speak to the witnesses to the incident who clearly assist the victim after the assault and anyone who recognises the man who threw the punch.”
