The firm of Andrew Harvey of Drum Farm, in Beeswing near Dumfries, has been awarded 'Scottish Dairy Farm of the Year' at the annual AgriScot awards.
Margaret and her two sons, John and Stuart, work in different areas of the company to ensure the highest quality of milk is produced from their 274 Holstein cows.
Calves are given the VIP treatment from birth, with their weight and size monitored to ensure they are ready to calve at just over two years of age.
J and A Nelson of Redcroft farm in Castle Douglas were one of the top four finalists.
"‘I was really impressed with all of the top four farms who were all highly efficient with fantastic animal welfare and it was a very tight call to make but the Drum farm team have superb management ability, great animal welfare, have reinvested in carefully thought out expansion and are producing the results to satisfy market demand."
