It has been described as a vibrant community but the danger is it will not be for much longer - many young people in Keswick are having to move away because the high cost of housing means it is unaffordable.
It is a situation the Keswick Community Housing Trust is fighting to remedy.
Today, December 4, it carried out a sod cutting ceremony on a plot of land that will provide 11 three-bedroom properties in the town.
The trust says will be 'truly affordable'.
