WEATHER: Cold, frosty & icy overnight

Sunday night weather chart 9-10th Dec 2012 Credit: Met Office/ itv plc

Clear skies continue to dominate the weather story overnight, especially in the west.

There's a chance showers in the North Sea could feed onto the east coast as the winds move in from the north.

This brings a Met Office 'Be Aware' warning for The Borders for a risk of icy stretches, as well as the risk of showers falling wintry if they develop inland.

The east/west spilt continues into Monday - cold for everyone, mainly dry & bright but a few showers (wintry inland) feeding in from the east.
