An open meeting is being held in Warwick Bridge in Cumbria, as part of the campaign to divert traffic away from the A69, onto a safer but parallel route.
Campaigners say part of the road - that links with the M6 - is unsuitable for heavy lorries, and too many lives have already been lost.
