A picturesque park in Hawick has received almost £2.7 million in funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The cash boost will help improve leisure facilities at Wilton Lodge Park, on the outskirts of the town.
Plans are being proposed to create an 'Outdoor Heart of Hawick' in the park by replacing missing key features such as the former bandstand.
A new play park, cafe and footbridge are also being propose, as well as restoring existing war memorials and fountains.
The project is expected to start in the summer of 2013, with a completion date of spring 2018.
