Queen of the South goalscoring legend dies

Queen of the South's goalscoring legend Jim Patterson has died aged 84.

The 'King of Queens' joined the club in November 1949, and holds the record for the top goal scorer with 251 goals.

He played 14 seasons with the Palmerston Park side, and was their cup lucky charm, playing in five of their 13 Scottish Cup quarter finals and two of their semi-finals.

His final appearance for the club was in 1963.

His funeral service will be held on Monday 24th December at Midday at Jardine`s Chapel of Rest.

Jim was an inaugural inductee in the club Hall of Fame in 2011.
