Two people who were killed in a road accident in the Scottish Borders have been named.
53-year-old Derek Peoples and his 51-year-old wife Avril Peoples, both from Kelso, died on Sunday 23rd December.
The couple were travelling in their silver Kia Cee'd on the A697 when it collided with a red Hyundai at around 2.45pm.
The incident happened around one mile south of the junction with the A68 at Carfraemill.
Mrs Peoples was treated at the scene, but died as a result of her injuries.
Mr Peoples was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment, where he later died.
Two people who were in the Hyundai suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospital.
Lothian and Borders Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
