WEATHER: Colder night ahead. Snow and ice risk

The Met Office have issued a WARNING for ICE for hills above 300m during the early hours of Sunday (2am to 11am).

Showers, falling as rain in the west at first, will turn to snow over the tops after midnight.

This could give 2-4cm of snow over the hills by dawn. Leading to the risk of icy stretches and difficult driving conditions.

The winds will pick up from the west. Temperatures will hover around freezing.

For eastern parts of the Scottish Borders conditions will be drier and clearer but frosty, leading to a cold start on Sunday.
