The Met Office has issued an advanced snow warning for south-west Scotland and the Scottish Borders for Saturday (12th January).
Snowfall is likely to be highly variable with some places seeing very little, particularly at low levels during the day.
However, they say that 5-10 cm could accumulate locally, particularly above 200 metres, with icy surfaces an additional hazard.
The warning is in place from 9am until 11.55pm.
