Workington man 'safe' after being rescued from gas plant

A man from Workington is believed to be amongst those rescued from the BP-run gas plant in Algeria which was attacked by Islamist gunmen on Wednesday. The worker is said to be unharmed and was flown to Sicily last night, on his way to the UK.

Cumbrian man freed in Algeria

Tony Grisedale, a 60-year-old mechanical engineer from Workington, who was rescued from the BP-run gas plant in Algeria, has returned home safely.
