Around 10,000 people are expected to attend the 'Big Burns Supper' in Dumfries this weekend.
The event is now in its third year and claims to be the biggest celebration on Burns in the world.
The big burns supper involves three days of live music and comedy shows, food courts, suppers, tours and Burns poetry recitals.
A new 'Festival Village' will be held in the Old market at the Whitesands. The village will include an original 1920's Spiegeltent, a children's tent and two outdoor bars.
A music stage at Midsteeple will host free performances all day, including an opening performance involving over 700 people.
Burns Suppers, tours and performance will be taking place at various locations in the town, with Scottish pop band 'Deacon Blue' performing at DG One on Saturday evening.
