WEATHER: Goodbye BIG FREEZE, Hello BIG THAW

A wet and windy spell moves in for this evening and overnight. Some heavy outbreaks are expected and there could be in excess of 2 inches of rainfall by Sunday lunchtime.

This morning there was 29cm of snow depth recorded at Eskdalemuir.

With temperatures recovering and more rain on it's way the Met Office has issued a Yellow 'Be Aware' warning for the risk of localised flooding with a quick thaw of the lying snow in addition to the overnight rainfall. .
