WEATHER: Overnight into Monday

Swaledale by MAISIE TURNER

Showers ease towards midnight. It will become dry with clear spells, allowing temperatures to dip and hover just above freezing. A frost is possible in places sheltered from the wind.

A cold but bright start initially but cloud will thicken quickly and rain will develop from the west by lunchtime. Winds will be strong and could reach gale force at western coasts.

The risk of localised flooding is possible as the last of the snow melts and the rain becomes heavy.
