One of Scotland's best-known food brands, Halls of Broxburn, has been bought by Dumfriesshire food company Browns.
Dutch owners VION announced last year that they were closing the Hall's factory in Broxburn, West Lothian, putting 1,100 permanent staff and 600 agency staff out of work.
Browns, which has headquarters in Kirkconnel will make Hall's products at its own plants.
The firm also plans to keep Hall's van operation which has safeguarded the jobs of 50 drivers.
