Dumfriesshire firm Browns Food Group has bought up Scotland's largest pork producer Hall's.
Halls slaughter 75% of Scotland's pigs but had been making losses of up to £79,000 a day.
Browns have bought the company from its Dutch owner VION.
It will see the retention of Hall's production in Scotland, and the van sales operation will continue to operate throughout the country.
Fifty of Hall's employees will be retained in that area.
