A heads up for Wednesday:
A band of sleet and snow will spread across much of Scotland and parts of northern England during Wednesday. Accumulations of 2 to 6 cm could occur at lower elevations, but perhaps more than 10 cm over some hilly areas, where drifting is possible in strong winds.
However, the snow should ease and revert to rain later in the day, so snow cover at low levels should be temporary.
According to provisional Met Office statistics this has been the coldest March for 50 years.
A selection of you pictures showing this weekend's windy weather
As High Pressure and settled weather south & east, milder and (eventually) more unsettled conditions develop from the south and west.
