A 15-year-old mum and baby from Penrith who have been missing since December 2012, have been found safe and well with family members in France.
Catalina Covaci and her seven-month-old son Ricardo were found after two months of public appeals, including national and international inquiries.
Ms Covaci made contact with officers to confirm that she and her son were both safe and well.
The pair were last seen leaving their home in Penrith on 19th December.
She then boarded a train bound for Manchester Piccadilly.
"I am delighted to say that Catalina has made contact with us and, after our police colleagues in France visited her and Ricardo on our behalf, we are now able to close our missing person enquiry.
“Catalina and Ricardo are safe and well which is the best outcome we could have hoped for.
“I’d like to thank every single person on the police enquiry team who have spent every day for the last two months scouring streets, looking at CCTV and visiting different homes and businesses.
“I’d like to thank the media for their support and each member of the public who has taken the time to call in."
