Officers from Dumfries and Galloway Police have visited Libya as part of their investigation into the Lockerbie bombing.
They met senior officials from the Libyan Government in Tripoli on Monday. Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, who died last year, is the only person to have been convicted of the atrocity.
Investigators are trying to find out if there are others in Libya who could be brought to trial.
Scotland's Lord Advocate has described the discussions as "positive".
