Motorists are warned of major disruption on the outskirts of Carlisle following a serious road traffic collision on the A6.
Police and ambulance service are at the scene close to Junction 42 of the M6 motorway following a collision between a pedestrian and a heavy goods vehicle.
Officers say the road into Carlisle will be closed for some time. Local diversions in place. Heavy traffic should use Eastern Way to access the M6 at junction 43.
