John Lamont, MSP for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire wants to see more investment on the A68 to make it safer, by introducing more crawler lanes, and by duelling sections.
"What these figures are showing is that there is a higher accident rate on those parts of the road that are not duelled or those parts that do not have a crawler lane.
"I think it is very important that the government does all it can to try and invest in the road so it is made as safe as possible to ensure these accident figures are reduced for future years."
