A date on the referendum to decide whether Scotland should leave the United Kingdom to become on independent nation will be announced later this week.
The Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has confirmed he'll make the date known on Thursday.
It was always intended that the referendum would take place in the Autumn of 2014 but the actual date has not yet been set.
Scots will be asked the question: Should Scotland be an independent country?
