The Scottish Justice Minister gave assurances today that local policing issues won't suffer when the eight forces in Scotland merge into one next month.
Kenny MacAskill was paying his last visit to Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary.
He met drug enforcement officers in Dumfries who have just arrested scores of people in an operation to crack down on local gangs.
