Drivers who abandoned their cars on the A595 in Cumbria are being asked to get in touch with Police urgently to arrange recovery. Officers who are trying to clear the road are asking people to ring 101 before they go to retrieve their vehicles.
Meanwhile, the A66 at Stainmore has re-opened and is passable with care.
