West is best for brightness today. Always the chance of a few snow flurries out of thicker cloud further east, but mainly dry and improving through the afternoon.
After a cold, frosty and icy start temperatures should recover to 5/6C. With lighter winds it will feel less raw.
According to provisional Met Office statistics this has been the coldest March for 50 years.
