At Carlisle Crown Court, the jury heard that Mr Kulinski's partner and a neighbour saw two people attacking Mr Kulinksi whilst he was lying on the ground outside his house on Arnside Road in the Harraby area of Carlisle.
A post Mortem later found that he had been stabbed seven times. Two of the wounds were so serious that they alone would have killed him, one was six inches deep, severing an artery with another damaging his lung.
The prosecution allege that Piotr Zygner and Sylwester Kawalec were the two men that were attacking Mr Kulinski.
They claim that Pauline Mucha then drove the two of them away as they fled the scene before police arrived.
All three are charged with murder.
