Police appeal for help with unexplained Stranraer death

Police are appealing to the public to assist them with their investigations into the unexplained death of a Stranraer man.

49-year-old Paul Hester, who is well known in the town, died in the Galloway Hospital on Monday (8th April).

Police are particularly keen to speak to a male witness who approached officers around 2.30am on Sunday (7th April), outside of The Bridge Arms in the town.

The man is described as being around 6 foot tall with short brown hair, of a slim build who wearing a dark shirt and trousers.

He is believed to be in his mid to late twenties and spoke with a local accent.
