Carlisle revs up for British Rally Championship

Carlisle is preparing for one of the largest motorsport events in the region, as the first round of the British Rally Championship arrives in the city.

More than 100 crews are taking part in 22nd running of the the event, which is based at Carlisle Racecourse.

Spectators can visit the "rally village" where they can meet drivers, buy merchandise and learn about rallying.

The Rally begins tomorrow with a Ceremonial Start in Carlisle Town Centre between 10.30am and 1pm.

Competitors will then head off to Pundershaw forest for the first of three stages before returning to the racecourse for service.
