Western coasts struggled with cool and breezy conditions. Eastern parts faired better with drier, sunnier and warmer conditions. In fact it was the warmest day of the year so far for our region - Charterhall in the Scottish Borders reached 16.3C at midday. Whitehaven at just 9C.
Holiday Monday Forecast:
A similar east/west split for the morning with a cloudier, cooler, breezier start in the west.
All areas should improve as we head into afternoon and in the sunshine temperatures will reach above the 13 -14C average for early May.
