Weather: Temperatures on the rise

Temperatures need to reach above 15.5c for it to be the regions warmest day of the year so far.

By 10am this morning (Sunday) temperatures had already risen above 14C at Charterhall in The Scottish Borders.

We are now comfortably in a warm sector.

Should the thermometer reach above 15.5C (our highest recording in the region so far this year) it will be the warmest day of 2013.

Holiday Monday is expected to be even warmer, potentially reaching 17C in the east.

Despite thicker cloud in the west at times UV levels will be at 4 (The scale for UK goes 1-8, with 8 being the highest risk). This brings a moderate risk for most skin types but a high risk for fair skins.

Pollen counts will be Moderate.
