A 40-year-old man has appeared at Dumfries Sheriff Court charged with murder.
The body of Brian Scott was found at his Dumfries flat on April 26th.
The 54-year-old, known locally as "Tucker", was originally from Stranraer and had lived alone at Gilbert Circle in the town for a number of years.
A few days later police arrested a man who today appeared on petition, in private, in the Sheriff's Chambers.
A spokesman for the Procurator Fiscal said no declaration was made and the accused was remanded in custody.
