Police in Dumfries are appealing for witnesses after vandals sprayed a war memorial with green paint.
The incident was discovered on Friday night (3rd May), at the memorial site on the New Abbey Road.
The Maxwelltown and Troqueer monument, which is topped with a figure of a soldier, commemorates more than 200 men from the area who died during the first world war.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland.
