The future of debt free Workington Reds Football Club could be in doubt after three directors resigned this week.
The resignations will trigger an Extraordinary General Meeting to find new directors and investors.
Chairman Humphrey Dobie, Colin Doorbar and Thex Johnson handed in their resignations at last weeks Annual General Meeting.
However, they said they will carry on for the next two weeks until replacements can be found.
The club was laden with £100,000 debts in 1999- it is debt free at the moment but still struggles with running costs and falling attendance.
General Manager Alec Graham said:
"We could be in trouble but hopefully not, we need someone to come forward and take the club on."
