A sod-cutting ceremony has marked the beginning of construction on new £4.8 million sports facilities at Peebles High School.
The state-of-the-art complex will include an indoor four-court games hall, fitness suite, changing rooms, general purpose hall and classroom.
A 2G synthetic pitch, sprint track and long jump track will also be built in the school grounds and work is due to be completed by April 2014.
