Talks about possible job losses at the Heinz food production factory in Kendal are due to take place.
Management will meet with the Unite union to discuss plans to shed 45 of the factory's 175 jobs as it moves production of infant milk for the Asian market to New Zealand.
The company says production will continue in Kendal for European consumers.
