Children's TV presenter Steve Mould is at the Whitehaven Festival encouraging pupils and students to realise that science can be fun.
He is holding demonstrations with 800 local school children and teaching them pranks.
Steve Mould said:
"I think Science is fun and I want these school children to see that too.
"Parents will hate me after today as the pranks are ones they can do at home but if they enjoy that's what matters.
"There is a science lesson in it - they just don't know it."
