A row is developing over the future of a historic pier that once stood on the shore of the Solway.
Carsethorn pier was built in 1840 and around 21,000 people emigrated to North America, Australia and New Zealand from the small coastal village.
Residents in Carsethorn are now fighting to stop the derelict structure from being demolished, as local developer Roy Kerr has plans to create a new harbour area for boats:
