A man had to be evacuated from his house in Loweswater this morning after the building was badly flooded during the morning rainshowers.
A fire engine from Cockermouth used an extension ladder to rescue the man from his house shortly before nine o'clock this morning.
He was then taken to what the fire services have described as "a safe place."
They also deemed the road at Crabtree Beck impassable due to the depth of the water and rocks on the road
