Weather: Weekend weather

West is best for Saturday. Morning radar image 24th August 2013

It's an improving story today - with even better conditions for the rest of the holiday weekend as we head into Sunday and Monday.

This morning sunny spells have dominated the west of the region and here it should remain dry with some sunshine throughout the day.

Further east cloudier skies remain and there is the continued risk of outbreaks of rain - which have the potential to be heavy and thundery at times. A fresher high of 17C, less humid in the west behind the rain.

It's a slow improvement this evening and overnight with mild temperatures & misty low cloud.

Sunday and Monday will be drier and brighter across all parts of the region. It will feel warmer in the sunshine. Fresher breeze for eastern coasts.
