Scrabble king fails to take crown

A scrabble enthusiast from the Scotitsh Borders has been beaten in the final of the UK Scrabble championships in London.

Allan Simmons from Coldingham was pipped at the post by his main rival from Northamptonshire.

It means he missed out on the prize money of 2 and a half thousand pounds but has promised to come back next year to reclaim his title.
