A community group has been given a £1.5m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to spend on woodland across South Lakeland.
The funds will preserve the landscape, protect traditional skills and improve access to archaeological sites.
The Rusland Horizons project hopes to recruit up to 30 employees, including 11 apprentices over the next 4 years, providing a boost to jobs in the rural Cumbrian valleys.
