Waterbird replica needs cash

A share issue is being launched today to try to raise £166,000 towards the cost of building an exact replica of the first seaplane to successfully fly in Britain, The Waterbird.

The plane made its maiden voyage on Windermere in 1911.

People are being given the chance to join a £160,000 mission to recreate the 'Waterbird'- Britain's first successful seaplane.
