Campaigners are meeting tonight to renew calls for the new Borders Railway to be extended to Hawick.
The project, which is due to open by the summer of 2013, will only restore the Waverley Line between Edinburgh and Tweedbank near Galashiels.
The Campaign for Borders Rail thinks that will limit its potential to boost the economy.
