Man 'seriously injured' after rescue from overturned lorry

A man remains in hospital with serious injuries after the lorry he was driving over turned on the back road near Southwaite yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters, the ambulance service and police were called to the scene just before 4pm where the 50-year-old had to be rescued after becoming trapped in his vehicle.

The man, who is from Penrith, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary with serious injuries, although they are not thought to be life-threatening
