Ballet performance will help pupils' CVs

Pupils at Queen Elizabeth School in Kirkby Lonsdale are getting ready to perform at the Dukes Theatre in Lancaster.

They've devised a contemporary ballet that's so good it's being performed at the professional theatre, making them the first school to do so.

To interest theatres in their work they've had to form their own professional youth dance company called The Curious Dance Company.

It's the brain-child of dance teacher and choreographer Jasper Marriott.

The school hopes being part of this will add something different to the children's CVs in an increasingly competitve field for jobs and further education.
