World Marmalade Awards 2014

It has been a record haul at this year's World Marmalade Awards, with more than 2,000 jars sent in by amateur marmalade-makers. Entries fhave come as from as far afield as Australia, the Philippines, South Africa, Japan and South Korea.

Spreading the love at Marmalade Awards

What goes into a good marmalade? Oranges obviously, sugar of course, and some kind of gelling agent. That's a basic version.

But, there were some weird and wonderful recipes on show in Cumbria this weekend at the annual Original Marmalade Awards.

The event at Dalemain near Penrith attracted people from around the world. But no prizes for guessing who the special guest was.
