The circumstances couldn't have been more dramatic as Melrose were crowned champions of the Premiership. They needed to win and hope their old rivals Gala slipped up.
Melrose kept their side of the bargain, but their game finished first so there was a nail-biting wait as they listened to the closing moments of the match involving Gala.
