Teesside University has paid tribute to their student Matthew Jordan, whose body was found in a lake on Tuesday.
Matthew, who studied criminology, had been missing for nineteen days, before his body was discovered in Windermere.
A spokesman for the university says they are all deeply saddened by the tragic loss. They are offering support to students and the wider university community.
The family of Matthew Jordan have issued a statement thanking people for their “support and kind words and actions”.
Cumbria Police confirmed a body recovered from Windermere is that of missing Matthew Jordan, 20, from Teesside, who disappeared in March.
A Facebook group set up by people in Windermere to help find the missing Middlesbrough man Matthew Jordan now has around 4,000 members.
