A missing dog walker at Ravenglass has been named. The missing man is John Allen, aged 76, from Preston.
He is described as 5ft 8”, of slim build and is bald. He was wearing a green fleece, green suede trousers and walking boots.
"He was last seen this morning swimming in Ravenglass Estuary, and we have been searching the area looking for any sign of him. It is very out of character for Mr Allen to be away this long. I would urge anyone who may have seen someone matching his description to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone who may have seen someone matching this description is asked to call Cumbria Police on 101 and ask for the duty sergeant at Whitehaven Police Station quoting log number 59 of today.
