Police and other emergency services are continuing to look for John Allen at Ravenglass.
This morning (29th) a search at low tide found no sign of Mr Allen.
It follows a search last night which involved a large number of emergency services, including Mountain rescue teams, Coastguard, Cumbria Fire and Rescue officers, Cumbria Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) officers, the National Police Air Service and Cumbria Police officers.
John Allen was last seen entering the water of Ravenglass Estuary at 9am on 28th April.
“Following enquiries we do not believe Mr Allen was swimming in the Estuary yesterday morning, but may have been trying to help his dog out of the water. The dog is fine, however Mr Allen has notbeen seen since.
We had around 100 people out searching for Mr Allen last night, and we are appealing to the local community to get in touchwith any relevant information they may have.”
